Side chair with cane seat, stamped "4" and "WB", Canterbury, NH
Description
Three slat back side chair with maple turnings, a cane seat, and tilters (both of which appear to be museum replacements). Back posts turned with characteristic Canterbury pommel shapes. Chair originally stained or washed with red. Back of top slat has a shadow where a paper label was affixed, but this is now lost. Below this area are faintly stamped outlines, "WB".
