Description

Basket handle-bending form with blanks set into a U-shaped cavity rather than over a convex form. Whittled pegs, about 1/8" x 5/32", along sides and bottom of cavity will accommodate 43 5/8" wide handle blanks. Form made up of birch (Betula spp.) components and pegs but cap strips that provide overhang along inside edges to hold handle blanks tight against bottom are of ash (Fraxinus americana). Cap strips have been shimmed with beech (Fagus grandifolia) shims.
