Description

One basket handle from a bundle made up of six smaller bundles of basket handles. All are double-notched, loop ear handles, and vary in size. One bundle has six handles, one has seven, one has eight, and three have twelve each. (Accession card notes eight bundles, with ends tied together, and eight-shaped. Four bundles of twelve handles, one of eight, one of nine, one of ten, one of eleven, and one single handle.) Bundles are tied with twine. A paper tag is attached with string, with hand-printed black ink: "Shaker made / Basket Handles / 8 bundles 8-shaped / Hancock, Mass. / Shakers / No. 10,609-K".
