Description

Oval box form. Pine oval blocks screwed and nailed together with a cleat nailed onto the underside to hold in a vise. A sheet metal plate is nailed to one side to serve as an anvil for clinching the tacks that hold the swallowtails on oval boxes. Top and bottom arrises are chamfered immediately behind anvil. Shaped basswood block set into mold under front half of anvil.
