Clamp, Leatherworking
Crimper screw, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Screw clamp for straightening leather on a crimper. Two large screws are at the center of the clamp. Both have crescent-moon shaped heads nestled together with a round center where the screws begin. One screw is hollow and wider than the other. Its shape allows for the thinner screw to fit inside it. The thinner screw is also longer than the one surrounding it and extends out of the wider screws body. When the thinner screw is fully tightened, the screw heads form a plus sign. The body of the clamp is U-shaped. There are two small hinged pieces on the jaw which have a threaded hole for a screw. One piece and its screw are still intact. The two ends of the "U" each has two arms fastened to the hollow screw.
