Garden seed box bearing label on front, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
White pine box, dividers, lid and bottom. Box finger-jointed, lid hinged with staples. Exterior of box painted. Paper label glued to front. Exterior of the box was painted with a red wash. The label on front is black text printed on a white background and reads "Shaker / Genuine Garden / Seeds / Mount Lebanon, N.Y." Along the inner edge are compartment labels for beets, carrots, sage & pepper, tomato flower, and corn. Handwritten inscription in pencil on the bottom.
