Object ID:
1950.412.1
Community:
New York, Mount Lebanon
Description

Steam-bent maple box band with three full and one part swallow tail secured with copper tacks. White pine header held in place with copper shoe pegs. Exterior painted red. Roughly corresponds to a #2 box in 11 box series. Box was deeper but nearly all of the bottom swallow tail has been cut away and the bottom header moved up or replaced. Black script at each end of box but very faint. End opposite swallow tail direction has what may be a four-letter word ending in "M" with a larger "L" beneath. The other end appears to have a name.
