Description

Clock (a) in rosewood case. On the front is a hinged panel comprised of two circles, the upper covered with clear glass to show the clock face behind, and the lower covered with glass featuring a reverse painting of an eagle, shield, and six flags. The two glass panels are framed with ogee molding and joined by a cleat with two medallions of concentric circles. The face of the clock is hand-painted, framed with a brass ring, and open at the center to show part of the works. The lower portion is open to show the chime coils and the brass and pewter pendulum (b). Visible at the back is a print reading in part, "Eight and One Day Brass Clocks Elias Ingraham's Patent Ingraham & Co. Bristol Conn." The case is rectangular at the base, and the top of the case comes to a point. Also present is the key (c).
