Description

Foundry pattern for grave marker stakes of white pine (Pinus strobus) consisting of a stake with a stiffening rib secured to its center on one side. Bottom of stake and rib are tapered; top of rib is tapered. Painted flat black.

Notes

This is a casting pattern for the post part of cast iron grave markers used by the Mount Lebanon Shakers. Also in the museum's collection are several of the markers, some including posts or sections of posts made from this pattern..
