Extremely weathered fence post from a three-rail post and rail fence. Probably made of black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia). Three mortises with rounded ends, roughly 2" x 9", are cut through the post to accept the rails.
Reportedly from the fence at the feast ground of Tyringham, MA.
