Beam
Three timbers, Tyringham, MA
Description
Three nearly identical timbers of white ash (Fraxinus americana). Extensive decay; end of .4 nearly rotted away.
Notes
Salvaged from the "Red Mill" at Tyringham, which was then collapsing; the building was originally a sawmill and barrel-making facility. These pieces were believed to be of a set with the press beam (1960.11643.1) and other timbers (1960.11643.2-.3), but the tenons and mortises do not match.
