Description
Forged steel cutting tool. Consists of an octagonal shaft that flares larger at the top to form a head for hammering on with a mallet, the shaft which tapers larger toward the crossbar. An iron wedge-shaped step is bolted to the wider end of the truncated triangular crossbar in a machined relieve 1/8" deep. The portion of the crossbar sides that extend 1/8" above the bottom of the relieve are beveled to knife edges.
