Description

Well-made device of birch, probably yellow (Betula alleghaniensis). A 1 1/2" x 10 5/8" x 14 3/4" piece of birch with a 7 3/4" diameter hole cut in its center is supported by two cross-grain "feet" (1 1/16" x 2 1/2" x 10 5/8"). A 7/8" x 2 13/16" x 10 3/4" block of birch is screwed to the top that has been sawn to match the circular hole through the top. Opposite this block is a section where the hole edge is chamfered. Two 7/16" diameter, tapped holes are covered by the block on the top. Opposite those, two 1 9/16" diameter recesses are drilled and centered in these recesses are 9/16" diameter tapped holes through the underside of the top.
