Description
Snow shovel consisting of a thin, one-piece white pine blade stiffened with a pine cleat on the underside and a forged iron edge riveted to the bottom inside of the blade. A pine board is nailed to the inside upper end of the blade through which a between-centers turned maple handle is inserted, the obliquely cut end of which is secured to the blade by means of a wood screw and a staple-like piece of iron looped over the handle end and inserted through the blade and cleat and clinched on the underside. The other handle end was kerfed and the cut end spread to accept a cylindrical hand hold.
