One of seven carrier handles of sweet gum (Liquidambar styraciflua). Bent and sanded but not drilled.
Likely date from the period when Lillian Barlow and William Perkins made oval carriers for sale at the Second Family, Mount Lebanon; this is the only time during which sweet gum is known to have been used for carriers at Mount Lebanon.
