Round box. Steam-bent sugar maple side rim, bent to form a cylinder. The ends of the rim feathered at the overlap, secured with copper tacks through swallow-tails pointing left. White pine bottom held by copper points. Originally painted or washed with red. Varnish was applied over the red at some point in time.
