Description

A loom part of birch (Betula spp.). Rectangular cross-section that tapers from 1 1/16" x 1 13/32" to 1 5/8" to 2". A 9/16" x 2 1/4" notch is cut into the larger end and a 7/16" diameter hole drilled through the sides. At the smaller end, about 3/4" x 11/16" or 15/16" arched holes are drilled and carved through in either direction. Both inside walls of the notch have a deep, circular wear mark toward the notch bottom where some sort of pulley abraded these walls.
