Description

Very small, shop-made saw which looks like a toy but believed to have been made for use as a keyhole saw. Steel blade, tapered from teeth to top, held in a saw kerf in a maple (Acer spp.) handle sawn and carved to shape. The blade and kerfed portion of the handle are sandwiched between two brass plates and the assembly is secured with two brass rivets.
