Pail lid consisting of two 1/4" thick disks nailed together with eight cut nails through the perimeter of the smaller, inner disk. Lid is painted heavily with yellow paint, making identification of wood uncertain; probably white pine (Pinus strobus) for both disks. A between-centers turned maple knob (Acer spp.) is inserted through the center and held with a cut nail through the tenon end.
