Description

Beautifully turned knitting needle scabbard of hickory (Carya spp.). Sort of golf-tee shaped object with a 1/16" diameter center hole, a 9/16" diameter shallow funnel-shaped mount and a tapered shaft (1/4" diameter at top, 3/16" diameter at bottom) that is carved to form a rectangular bottom.

Notes

Holds knitting needle. Made to be sewn into a heart-shaped cloth pocket that sisters pinned to their dresses while doing handwork.
