Description

(a) Doll with ceramic head and bust, arms and legs from knees down. Body stuffed with cotton and covered with pink cotton fabric. Clothing: bonnet (g) with pink skirt, purple/blue overshot dress (b) and bertha (c) with black zig-zag trim. Chemise (d), petticoat (e), pantaloons (f), stand (h).

Notes

Made for the Shaker Village Workgroup. The costume was not Shaker made and the doll was not dressed by a Shaker, but the fabric for the dress and bertha was Shaker woven and purchased from the Hancock Shakers.
