Pharmaceutical pestle. Hexagonal base with a rectangular block atop, in center. Attached to back of base is a vertical post. Iron mortar with pedestal on block. Iron pestle secured to carved wooden arm; tapers in width. Arms tenoned through board which is secured to vertical post.
