Description

Brass wick holder. Wick holder has a stepped circular top with evenly spaced ridges along bottom tier. Atop is a hinged dome, at the center of which is a rectangular cut-out. Through the cut-out the integral elliptical cylinder at center is visible; the elliptical cylinder is surrounded by perforated plate integral to the top. Top is secured to a base by four bent brass arms which reach above the dome. Extending through the sides of the base is a small brass rod, which, when turned, progresses the wick upward with three gear-like spokes seen through the elliptical cut-out. The other end of the small rod has a small, thin disk, for turning.
