Description

Leatherworking bench, also known as a stitching horse, with a foot treadle. The bench has four splayed legs with a stretcher on each side. Attached to the two long stretchers is a foot treadle. In the center of treadle a leather belt is attached, which continues up and around the bench and through the vise and secured on the outside of the other side. The vise has two wooden jaws which are rectangular at the base and then swells into a curve. In between the vise there is a metal spring and a metal hinge on one side. Vise has an integral seat. The seat is 5 1/2" w and grows in width to 11 1/4" at the opposite end.
