Description

Foundry pattern of white pine for a stove firebox bottom with integral hearth of white pine. A 1/4" x 15 9/16" x 31 3/8" piece of pine with its outside edges shaped to form two lugs on each side and an hearth with rounded corners and slight concavities between corners and plane of firebox door and a 10" x 27 5/16" rectangle cut from its center serves as a frame for the bottom. From the perimeter if the center opening on the underside, sides and ends sloping inward create a shallow open trough and another rectangle of pine glued to the bottom edges close the trough. On the upper side of the bottom, trim is added to create a lip around the fire box bottom, ending at the hearth. Three spacers are in place along each side and two along the back inside the lip. A decorative molding is glued around the perimeter of the hearth. Pattern is painted black.
