Description

Foundry pattern for a stove firebox bottom of a white pine and a bent hickory molding around hearth. The pattern consists of a rectangular firebox bottom with integral circular hearth. A 5/16" x 1 1/8" molding is nailed around the perimeter of the 7/16" thick bottom. The straight sections of molding are pine; that bent around the hearth is hickory. No finish. Since the molding is 1/4" higher than the bottom, it serves to hold the sides, back, and door front in place. A spacer is centered in the back end to keep the firebox end against the beech end lip. Eight sets of two holes are drilled into the underside to locate the dovetail ways that hold the stove legs in place. Each set of holes is labeled with chisel slashes.
