Description

Rectangular wooden box with a hinged lid. The lid is hinged on by thin metal rods hammered through the top and back with the ends bent over into the wood. The lid has remnants of a square paper label in the center and a hook latch on front with an eye on the front face of the side. The box is plain butt joints and secured by four nails in each joint. The base is the same dimensions as the walls and is secured by nails. The sides are stained dark brown. Attached on the inside side there is a piece of woven string, which was once attached to the inside of the lid for support. Has a reddish-brown stain.
