Black ash splint basket lined with oilcloth, inscribed "S.H", Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Square base and circular rim with crossed lashing. The rim is half-round on the interior and exterior. The uprights measure 5/8" - 7/8" wide, and weavers are 1/4". The interior is lined with oil cloth, with one piece for the base and two pieces for the sides. There are three cleats on the base. An overhead, bonnet-shaped handle rises about 8" above the basket and is 7/8" at its widest point.
