Anvil, Stake

Description

A forged iron stake (anvil) with a 1 1/16" x 5 13/16" slightly crowned working surface supported by an integral post, 1" x 1", that transitions to an octagon 1 1/2" below working surface. At about 6 1/2" below transition this octagonal post enters a mortise in a turned disk of hardwood (elm). At some point inside mortise, post is reduced to a 1/2" square which extends to nearly under the wood block's surface.
