Description

Circular saw clamp. Base (a) consists of a shaped birch support with another rectangular birch plank at a right angle to the support bolted to the shaped support. The bolt ends extend 3 1/2" above the support. A shaped cap (b) of red oak with slots extending two-thirds of the way across the width of the cap allows it to be clamped by means of the wing nuts on the bolts extending from the base. Across the center of the vase and cap running dovetailed channels are routed that accept 17/32" thick piece of maple with similarly shaped edges. Part (d) fits into the slot on (a), part (c) fits into the slot of (b). A 1/2" diameter hole is drilled through all four pieces such that, when assembled, a circular saw blade can be sandwiched between the dovetailed fillers and held by the 1/2" bolt and nut. With the bottom cleat on the base clamped in a vise, the fixture and blade in held securely and the blade can be sharpened.
