Description
Timber caliper of cherry, brass, and iron. Bar and both fixed and moveable jaws of cherry, brass tips set into jaw ends, a brass wear plate is set into the rear of the mortise in the moveable jaw, and an iron alignment pin is inserted into the inside face of the fixed jaw that slips into a hole in the inside face of the moveable jaw. A brass flat-head wood screw in the outside edge of the bar stops the moveable jaw. Eight rows of numbers cubic feet to tenths in 29 columns corresponding to log diameters of 3" to 31" in diameter. The moveable jaw is labeled for log lengths of 10 to 17 feet on one side and 18 to 25 feet on the other.
