Description

Some sort of press of birch (Betula spp.) consisting of a base, 1 1/4" x 13 1/8" x 27 1/2) supported by two cleats (1" x 2 1/4" x 12 1/2") screwed to the underside and with a slot (5/8" x 19 7/16) 7/8" in from back. Two 1 3/16" diameter threaded dowels are screwed into tapped mortises near either end of the base plate. A turned cross bar fits over the two threaded dowels and, in the absence of stock to be pressed, rests upon the 1 13/16" diameter dowel bases. Tapped 2 13/16" diameter disks are threaded onto the dowels to apply pressure to the crossbar when the press is in use.
