Description

Large face-turned ash bowl. Although face-turned, the bowl appears to have been turned between centers in a face-turning orientation. A stub would have been left where the drive and dead centers were engaged. After the rest of the bowl was turned, these stubs were removed with an adz or chisel. Loop of wire installed through holes drilled to either side of one check and twisted to stabilize.
