Description

A hinged lid wood and cardboard box decorated to look like a book. The box is cardboard with a wooden "spine", which is covered in leather with horizontal strips of gold-pattened wallpaper. The top and bottom of the box are wood with inset rectangular pieces of plexiglass trimmed in the same gold-patterned wallpaper. Through the plexiglass is seen a patterned magenta paper with gold suns and dots, of which the front is severely faded, while the back is vibrant. The box is trimmed with an unpatterned magenta paper. The "pages" are the same gold-patterned wallpaper as the trim around the plexiglass. Inside the box is lined with a mint-green and brown diamond-patterned paper. There is a small lip on the inside of the lid covered with an ink-stained patterned paper. Attached to the lid and the side of the box is a piece of dark brown ribbon.
