Description

Case with white pine (Pinus strobus) ends and back, butternut (Juglans cinerea) doors, drawer fronts, and face frame, tulip poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera) drawer guides, drawer ends (drawers 1, 2, 5, 6, 7), drawer backs (drawers 1-4, 6, 7), drawer bottoms (all). Drawers 3 and 4 have pine ends (a hard pine, probably red pine Pinus resinosus) and drawer 5 has a pine back (Pinus resinosus). Two turned black walnut (Juglans nigra) per drawer and one per door. Knobs have 1/2" threaded tenons of maple (Acer spp.). Doors are frame and panel with raised panels, through mortise and tenon joinery, joints unpinned. Iron butt hinges on doors. Drawers are lipped. Evidence of red paint on drawer front ends. Top drawer has half-mortise lock and brass escutcheon.
