Mallet hewn and carved from a section of ash (probably) log. Section 16 1/8" long cut from a 5" diameter log, the bark peeled off (mostly), and the diameter reduced toward the top forming a roughly conical segment terminating at a 1 1/2" diameter cylindrical handle.
