Sliding sleeve measuring ruler, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Cherry, iron guides secure sliding extension of standard. Top bar secured to standard with dovetail. Foot secured to standard by bridle joint. Measurement lines incised and inch numbers, 15-25, are stamped. Iron guides fastened to standards with copper shoe pegs. The inside surface of standard with curved end attached is scribed at 1" intervals and stamped 15 through 25. 1/2" points are also scribed; 1/8" intervals delineated with pricks by an awl.
