Description

A turning saw with cheeks of cherry, cross-bar of oak (red?), tensioned by means of a twisted rope and an ash (?) tongue. Handles by which saw blade is turned are oak, probably red. A carved tongue allowed the twisted rope to be twisted to tight and the bottom of the tongue was held behind the center cross-bar.
