Description

Cheese press of pine, painted blue. Base is made of series of wood pieces and is about 13" high, and is a rectangular shape turned on its side when viewing it from front. There is a wood lever that extends outward at front at a diagonal for 25". This lever raises the octagonal wood slab that is attached to the back 20 1/4" x 20". On either side of slab, are two vertical, ridged poles 23 3/4" h with turned knob at top. Cheese hoop with curds would have been placed on slab and the rectangular piece 25 1/2" x 3" x 2", would have rested on top of hoop, suspended between ridged poles. The wood bolts would have then been turned until they rested just above rectangular piece, applying pressure to cheese curds.
