Description

Cupboard-on-chest of wood. The dresser has two half-width drawers atop three full-width drawers, all of which protrude slightly from the body of the dresser. The smaller two have one drawer pull each, while the three bottom drawers have two pulls each, all in-line with each other. The drawers are set into an open framework with boards at the front and sides holding the drawers in place. The first of the long drawers is divided into six compartments all 9 1/4" deep, but from left to right are 12", 11 3/4", and 12 1/4" wide. The other two drawers have only one large compartment. The drawers have dovetailed construction. The bottom of the dresser has four legs, with curved piece of wood attached on the inside for decoration. The base of the cupboard is dovetail lap-jointed with the drawer framework making it a single piece. The cupboard has two doors with a single pull each, which match the pulls used on the drawers. The doors are rectangular and has a recessed center portion. Along the recessed edge is an attached molding. Each door is attached to the cupboard with two steel hinges. The proper right door has a lock and key mechanism. Doors have an interior wooden lock, which unlocks when the pulls are turned to either side. When closed the doors are flush with the cupboard. Atop the cupboard is a cove-ogee crown molding.
