Maple body, oak handle, brass screw in end. Tightener body is a tapered octagon with 5/8" wide slot cut in the smaller end to a 2 3/8" depth. At the larger end, the facets are rounded over to a center point into which a brass round-head wood screw has been inserted. A 15/16" x 15 1/2" oak dowel is fixed in the larger end cross-ways to serve as a handle.
