Flatiron
Clothing iron, Sabbathday Lake, ME
Description
The iron is triangular with soft, rounded, sides and waterfall edges, with the smallest on top. There are two raised rectangular sections on either end of the top, in which the arms of the handle are set. The arms bend outward, then curve slightly inward toward the main portion of the handle. The handle is formed from the cast iron being bent into place, creating a seam underneath and a hollow interior.
