Flatiron
Clothing iron, Canterbury, NH
Description
A cast iron sad iron. The iron is triangular with soft, rounded, sides and waterfall edges, with the smallest on top. The arms of the handle extend from the center of the top which curve over and up, leaving a short gap between the top and the handle. The outside edges of the handle are beveled until they curve creating the hand grip. The handle is formed from the cast iron being bent down and folded into place, creating a seam underneath and a hollow interior.
