Carrier handle bending form used by George Roberts
Description
Handle-bending form with white pine (Pinus strobus) sides, top, and three clamp bars. Top crown and ends are maple (Acer spp.). Although clamp bars were all made and used with wooden screws to secure them to the form, this form has no tapped holes and all fasteners are steel carriage bolts (1/2" diameter) with square steel nuts, iron washers, and iron or wood spacers.
Notes
Used to hold steam-bent handles to shape until set.
