Cast steel broad ax with egg-shaped eye, top and bottom lugs, almost semi-circular shoulders, and an arcuate cutting edge. Curiously, both sides of the cutting edge are beveled but the outside edge has the stronger bevel. The ax is fitted with an offset ash handle (for a right-handed person) and is wedged into the eye.
