Description

A hand-glass shaped piece of white pine painted black with a section from the length of a file affixed to one side along the center in line with the "handle." One end of the file section is held by a staple; the other end appears to have had a tang forged from the file which was bent downward at a right angle, driven through the pine holder and peened or clinched on the underside. The end of a 1/4" diameter iron rod is also visible on the underside of the block that could originate from or be welded to the underside of the file segment near its center. Numerous stamped 2s, 5s, circles with decorated perimeters, etc.
