Description

Molded porcelain pitcher with floral decorations on the sides. The base of the pitcher has a molded scalloped edge. The base forms a small waist, just underneath the waist is a repeating border of molded decoration of s- and c-curves. The repeats are separated by creases in the body of the pitcher. The creases decrease in severity as the pitcher widens, giving the widest width a wavy shape. Across the body there are three sets floral arrangements of three different sizes. The these groups contain purple and white flowers framed by green leaves and small yellow flowers with a branch extending out of them which has more purple and white flowers on it. Underneath the spout is the smallest of the three groupings and is a shrunken version of the arrangement flipped on its side; the third is medium in size and is a vertical inversion of the largest floral group. The width decreases in forming a neck where the top of the handle is attached. The handle is ear-shaped and made up of scroll work. The handle is accented with gold leaf on the spine and outside edges. Above the neck, around the mouth of the pitcher, is molded decoration of s- and c-curves, with gold-leaf overlay. The gold-leaf covers the scalloped edge and continues into the inside of the pitcher.
