Square base, flared sides, circular rim. Black ash splint. Uprights are 1/2" - 1" wide, weavers are 3/8" - 1/2". Double grip "ear" handles, 5/8" wide, that are double notched and comes down on outside. Split rim with double lashing. Base is plain weave with splints that range from 5/8" to 1 1/4" wide. Exterior, base is reinforced with copper nails, one in each corner, and the fifth is 2 5/8" away from one of the corner nails.
