Description

Wood block cut in the form of a shoe with a removable instep wedge. The last has a round toe. After the toe cap the wedge starts. The instep slopes upward and rounds off and is then cut in a concave line. The wedge has a through-hole in line with the highest point, which has a piece of straw/twine looped through it that wraps around the waist of the last. The wedge does not sit flush with the rest of the last as is common. Below the top of the last's body there is another threaded through-hole. From the top the heel curve extends to the seat. The seat sides are curved to form the waist before growing to the widest point at the last joints then tapering to form the toe. The seat has numerous nail holes along the edge of the last with other concentrated clusters on the heel, waist, and toe.
