Description

Wooden rectangular box with a hinged lid. The exterior of the box is red washed. At the center of the top there is a metal oval pendant with a floral bouquet design with an attached handle. Perpendicular to the handle there is a slot 3 9/16" x 3/8". The top is split down the center width-wise and sits on top of the sides. The sides appear to be cut, but when open, it is clear that they are separate boards. The lid is 2" tall. Inside the lid, on the other side of the slot, is a small wooden rectangular structure 1 1/2" x 5 1/16", which tapers in size to an opening 3 7/8" x 3/8". In the middle of the short sides, of the lid and bottom, a leather strip is attached to keep the lid from falling open. On the front face of the bottom half is a keyhole. When open, the locking mechanism is visible; it comprises a small strip of metal with an off-center hole to receive the small metal hook that is on the lid's lip.
